WELLNESS COUNSELING

Wellness Counseling uses an integrative approach to working with clients, while incorporating both evidence based eastern holistic philosophies and complementary western psychology. This practice is focused on the integration of body, mind and spirit as a way to return to a balanced sense of wellbeing and happiness, incorporating techniques such as:

  • Mind-body focused physical activities
  • Mindfulness meditation
  • Breathing techniques
  • Buddhist psychology
  • Psychotherapy
  • Relaxation strategies
  • Self-care and nutrition

Together with your counselor, you will assess areas of imbalance and create an individualized wellness plan designed for your specific goals and needs. By developing an awareness of the ways in which intrinsic health is blocked and examining ones experience, the opportunity to open to a healthier, balanced state is created. Combining cognitive therapy and mindfulness practices with movement allows one to ground the experience in the body, and feel a positive change in the moment. This process is the beginning of increasing wisdom, insight, and a change in patterns, resulting in a calming of the mind, body, and spirit. You do not need to have experience with any of these practices to experience their powerful effects.
