Jim McCormick is a licensed, board certified Five-Element Acupuncturist and Zero Balancer and the co-director of Cambridge Health Associates. One of the earliest Americans to study Five-Element Acupuncture with British Acupuncturist Dr. J.R. Worsley, Jim continues the unique Five-Element teaching lineage at the Tri-State College of Acupuncture in New York City, and the Institute of Taoist Education in Louisville, Colorado. He is past president of the Acupuncture Society of Massachusetts, and was a founding Commissioner of the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Jim has also been a certified Zero Balancer for over 35 years. He was the first ever certified practitioner in 1974 and the first teacher besides the founder, Dr. Fritz Smith, in 1979. He lectures and leads Zero Balancing workshops and advanced teacher trainings in the US and abroad and is the president of the Zero Balancing Touch Foundation.

Treatment Philosophy

"My aim is to help people connect to their deepest nature - to their Core - and to listen to their own body/mind/spirit for nourishment, inspiration and guidance, and to support this process with acupuncture and zero balancing by balancing their energy, removing blocks and aligning their body. I continually discover that when people get more clarity and a healthier, stronger connection to their deeper self, symptoms and their impact often lessen.”

"I can't say enough good things about Jim McCormick. His skills in acupuncture and zero balancing help me physically and emotionally and play a key role in my overall good health. I can go to him with a physical issue such as headaches or neck pain, and they are quickly resolved, and he manages stress and personal issues with great sensitivity and expertise. I am very grateful for Jim's skill and care." - Kristen P.

"Jim McCormick is the practitioner in my life I can count on the most. Jim sometimes reminds me of Mr. Rogers...he's warm, kind and reassuring. That plus his exceptional technical skill and experience engenders complete trust that he will understand what's wrong and know how to help." - Ed Y.

"I've been seeing JIm McCormick for Zero Balancing sessions since 2002. He is a phenomenal practitioner, healer and teacher. He played a huge part in my decision to learn, practice and ultimately teach Zero Balancing myself." - Amanda Brauman King

"Since receiving Zero Balancing with Jim my back is the best it’s been in years and I’ve been able to return to activities that I previously had to discontinue due to pain and discomfort...I also love how ZB makes me feel: my energy feels cleaner, clearer, and more expansive with each session. Jim is truly an exceptional practitioner...He is also one of the most caring, insightful and compassionate men I have ever known." - Veronica Q.
