MARILYN YOHE

Marilyn Yohe, Lic.Ac., MAOM, is a licensed and national board certified acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist. She is a graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture in Watertown, MA, where she earned a Master's degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Marilyn has additional training in the Dr. Tan Balance Method, Dr. Zhu's scalp acupuncture, and in treating infertility and working with pregnant and breastfeeding women.

"My work is grounded in a deep belief in the human body's natural ability to heal and maintain balance. I love doing acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine because they work with this natural force to tap into the body's own knowledge of what health looks like and how to maintain it.
"I also love Chinese medicine because it is different for each person who comes in. My work involves listening deeply, paying attention and gathering information to decide how best to communicate with and stimulate the body's healing mechanisms. I am trained in several different approaches, including Traditional Chinese Medicine style acupuncture, Dr. Tan's Balance Method, and Dr. Zhu's scalp acupuncture. Each style has its own strengths, such as treating acute or chronic pain, restoring overall balance in complex or long-standing disease, treating neurological conditions, or balancing emotional states, to name a few. I work carefully to understand each patient's situation and needs, and choose the approach that seems most appropriate and effective for that person.
"I also encourage patients to use Chinese herbal medicine, which is a safe and gentle way to support acupuncture treatments between sessions, boost energy, and speed the healing process. I find that many people get faster and better results with a combination of herbs and acupuncture, and that they enjoy being able to do something on their own each day that helps them feel better.
"In addition, I may offer recommendations regarding diet, exercise and lifestyle. These are intended to help patients positively affect their own health and to increase the effectiveness of acupuncture and herbal treatments."

For your convenience, daytime, evening, and weekend appointments are available.
