JIM McCORMICK

Jim McCormick, L. AC., was one of the earliest Americans to study Five-Element Acupuncture. He studied Traditional Five Element Acupuncture with Dr. J.R. Worsley, in Kenilworth, England, graduating in 1973. He has been practicing Traditional Acupuncture in the Boston area ever since. He began teaching Traditional Acupuncture as early as 1974, and currently teaches acupuncture at the TAI Sophia Institute in Columbia, Maryland (where he was a founding member of the Board of Directors, and on the Board from 1980 to 1995), and at the Tri-State Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in New York City.

He has studied Zero Balancing since 1974 with ZB's founder, Dr. Fritz Smith, and became the first teacher of ZB after Dr. Smith in 1979. He has been practicing Zero Balancing and Traditional Acupuncture since 1973. He is chairman of the Board of Directors and on the Faculty of the Zero Balancing Association. He currently practices at Cambridge Health Associates. He is a past president of the Acupuncture Society of Massachusetts, and was a founding Commissioner of the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

"Jim is a fabulous teacher. He is clear, compassionate, and intelligent. I felt energized by every moment of the class. More than any other form of energy work, Zero Balancing teaches a concrete way of working with energy and structure that is easily incorporated in a body-work session, and gives a clear way of evaluating change." -Eliza Mallouk
